2017 7U & 8U Fishers Express

Travel Baseball Tryouts

All boys enrolled in the Fishers-HSE rec baseball program, ages 7 and under and 8 and under are invited to participate in the 2017 Fishers Express Travel Baseball Tryouts.

Time and date of tryouts will be announced via the league website in December. The targeted date will be a Saturday in early February of 2017.

7U & 8U Fishers Express Travel teams participate in Sunday Showcase games until the completion of the rec season and then participate in area tournaments against other area showcase/travel teams. All boys participating in the 7U and 8U Fishers Express Travel Baseball Program are required to also participate in the FishersHSE Youth Baseball Rec Program.

2017 9U - 14U Fishers Express

Travel Baseball Tryouts 

 

2017 Tryouts – Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31.

Boys are expected/required to participate on both dates.

Registration forms will be made available at Check-in.

A non-refundable $25 tryout fee (Fishers-HSE Youth Baseball) will be required at Check-in along with the SPORTS registration fee of $200 (Two Separate Checks).

Saturday, July 30 – Skill Evaluation

Running/Hitting/Infield/Outfield/Pitching/Catching

Sunday, July 31 – Scrimmage & additional skill evaluation as needed.

Age Group Times for both dates:

14U & 13U – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

12U & 11U = 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

10U & 9U = 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

The age cutoff date is April 30, 2017 to participate in a particular age group.

Check in at the upper pod 30 minutes prior to your assigned start time. No parents are permitted in or around the field locations. Parents are able to stay in the upper pod Billericay parking lot. No current or previous team jerseys with names are to be worn. Players wearing a jersey will be asked to remove the jersey prior to the tryout/evaluation.

If you are unable to attend the assigned tryout time, please contact your age group travel commissioner no later than Saturday, July 15.

2017 Travel Baseball Timeline:

Coaching Application Deadline – Friday, July 15

Head Coach Interviews – July 16-July 23

First Team at each age group Head Coach Announced – July 24

Tryouts/Evaluations – July 30 & July 31

Teams Announced Friday, August 5 at 5pm

Mandatory Coaches Meeting – Early September

2017 Travel Baseball Coaches

Parent coaches will be considered at all age groups. If an individual without a child in the program wishes to coach, they are able to apply. All applications will be reviewed. External ("paid coaches") will not be recruited, but will be considered through the application process. A completed application must be received by Friday, July 15 in order to be considered. Not all applicants will be interviewed. Applications are to be submitted to the Travel Director, who will provide to the age specific travel directors, who will be conducting the interviews. The First team coach selected at each will attend tryouts, but will not be an evaluator.

2017 Travel Baseball Tryouts/Evaluations

A league standardized evaluation form and ranking system will be utilized at all age groups. The tryout evaluation will be the first criteria utilized in determining teams, using a formula that includes the skill evaluation and then the scrimmage evaluation. Evaluators/Commissioners will refer to previous years’ player evaluations as a resource. Fishers-HSE Board Members will be the evaluators. Board members with a son at a particular age group will not participate in that age group. All inquiry’s regarding decisions of team selections are to be directed to the age specific travel commissioner.

2017 Team Selection/Announcements

Teams will be posted on the league website at 5pm on Friday, August 5.
